Education and Specialties
I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Illinois, which means I am trained to provide counseling. A clinical social worker offers a variety of services to individuals, families, groups and organizations. I have concentrated my practice as a social worker to helping others problem solve when difficult circumstances require support and collaboration with a professional.
My specialties include helping find coping skills to manage strong emotions like anger, sadness, worry, fear, panic and stress. I also help people improve their relationships as partners, employees, parents, and family members. While I am familiar with medications that help reduce symptoms of mood and anxiety disorders and I can refer clients to psychiatrists for medication evaluations and management, I am also comfortable helping find coping skills and wellness tools to manage these issues.
I have obtained clinical training in the areas of cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness and EMDR.
